Roy Williams

Roy was raised on a farm in Bunker, Shannon County, Missouri, graduating from Bunker High School in 1980. Following high school graduation, Roy went to Missouri State University in Springfield where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. After completing his college education, Roy attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While working his way through law school clerking for the Michigan Legislative Service Bureau, Roy received academic honors of being selected to the American Society of Writers on Legal Subjects, the Thomas M. Cooley Legal Author's Society and he became Editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. He was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Awards for the highest grades in Legal Research and Writing, Scholarly Writing I, Constitutional Law, and Contracts I and the recipient of Certificate of Merit Awards for the highest grades in Contracts II and Scholarly Writing II. Roy joined the firm in 1991 upon graduating Magna Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. After joining the firm, Roy also worked part-time for Missouri State University – West Plains campus as an adjunct professor where he taught business law.

Roy has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and is a member of the 37th Judicial Circuit Bar Association. In addition, Roy has been selected for inclusion in the National Trial Lawyers Association, a national organization composed of the top 100 lawyers for each state. Roy has also received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Roy is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and also the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, where membership is limited to attorneys who have achieved million and multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements. His areas of concentration are automobile collisions, semi-truck wrecks, motorcycle accidents, and premises liability cases that result in personal injury or wrongful death.

Roy is married to the former Shelly Tarvid of Ellington, Reynolds County, Missouri. He and Shelly have two children, Morgan Ashelly and John Roy, both of which have Bachelor of Science Degrees from Missouri State University, Springfield, MO. John Roy has joined the firm where he will be concentrating his area of practice in automobile collisions, semi-truck wrecks, motorcycle accidents, and premises liability cases that result in personal injury or wrongful death.
